First blast at Pike River killed most miners says Mines Rescue

The Pike River Mine EntranceThe NZ Mines Rescue Service believes the initial shockwave of the first Pike River explosion killed most of the 29 men underground immediately. The initial explosion occurred in the mine on November 19 last year. Lawyer for the Mines Rescue Service, Garth Gallaway, made the claim during the inquiry into the disaster this morning. Man crushed by falling generator named

The accident scene at TransDiesel.Police have released the name of a man crushed by a generator in a workplace accident on Hornby, Christchurch yesterday. Neville Raymond Sutherland, 30, was delivering a large generator when a forklift removing it from his truck toppled over, crushing him to death. Emergency services were called to the premises of TransDiesel Limited at Calgary Place in Hornby just before midday. Mr Sutherland died at the scene. Employee sets up false company and steals $500,000

It is extremely easy to commit fraud but it is extremely hard to get away with it.An employee of a Sydney insurance company set up a fake company complete with a registered name, letterhead and a PO box number to defraud half a million dollars from her employer according to police prosecutors.
