NZ Post- death by a thousand cuts. Restructuring mail processing centres at the expense of 120 jobs will not affect mail delivery times, even in rural areas, New Zealand Post says. The postal operator today announced it was shutting mail handling centres in Hamilton, Wellington and Dunedin and many other centres, and consolidating operations in Auckland, Christchurch and Palmerston North. Bank of America cuts 30,000 jobs

Bank of America says it is cutting 30,000 jobs in the coming years as it looks to slash annual expenses by US$5 billion, but investors were disappointed in the scant new detail the bank provided about its plans. IRD to axe 200 jobs

The tax vampires are having an in-house clean out.The Inland Revenue Department is set to axe 200 jobs in regional offices. Details of the plan are being released to staff today. The Taranaki Daily News reports that IRD branches in Rotorua, New Plymouth, Nelson and Invercargill are going to have staff numbers halved in less than a year.
