Most workplaces have harassment and bullying policies in place. Many of these were written following the implementation of legislation such as the Human Rights Act, Health and Safety in Employment Act and Employment Relations Act. The emphasis for many of these policies was on sexual harassment and related inappropriate behaviour in the workplace.
While most workplaces have seen a cultural shift away from instances of sexual harassment, there has been a steady rise in emotional and physical harassment and bullying at all levels in the organisational tree.
This course addresses this change and focuses on what employees and managers need to know about harassment and bullying in their workplace.
Course participants will learn what the law requires from management in workplaces around harassment and bullying.
The course will identify what harassment and bullying are in the context of the workplace, Recognising the signs, how to respond and dealing with aggression and violence.
Case studies of actual harassment and Bullying cases will be incorporated into the presentation and discussed.
